    A few tips for race photos passed on to me by past coaches:
    1. Watch for photographers throughout the race
    2. When you spot them, start smiling (and start running if you are walking if you want a good “action” shot)
    3. Get away from the crowds so the photographer gets a good shot
    4. Don’t put on lipstick if you are running. A running coach of mine once told a story of a lady who applied lipstick near him right before crossing the finish line. Needless to say, it didn’t make her look better (funnier, but not better).
