Nike Women’s Marathon 2008: A Public Service Announcement

February 28, 2008 By: Runner Leana

I know my blog comes up when people search for information on the Nike Women’s Marathon so I thought I would post a public service announcement regarding registration for the 2008 event. Due to the popularity of the event last year entry into this year’s event is via lottery only. You can sign up at active.com between March 4th and the 18th, then lucky entrants will be posted on April 1st. This information isn’t up on the race website, nor are they e-mailing this information out to people who raced before or registered for updates but you can find all the details here. This race is definitely a great one as it has some amazing scenery and of course you get a Tiffany’s necklace when you cross the finish line! Just be sure to train for those challenging hills! Good luck to everyone hoping to enter.

Wow, you’ve got ALL the inside scoop on the cool races! 🙂 Thanks for the heads up as I am hoping to do the half again this year. I also got in from lottery last year and the year before that, I got in through the Nike ClubRun.

I heard this, too and really hope I get picked. I lucked out and got into the NYC-Half last year so hope my luck holds out one more time.

Thanks for the tip! I’d like to run the half. Not quite ready for another marathon (much less, a hilly one that I’ll have to train for during the summer!) …

Ah man, I knew I should’ve done that one prior to this…one of these years I am going to try to do it though!!
