LOST

REWARD IF FOUND

What exactly is lost? My mojo. My will to run. Okay, I’m being overly dramatic…but I’m starting to feel like my heart isn’t as into running as it was before. Getting out the door on Friday was hard… Granted, it was a Friday and I would have rather have still been at my hockey pool party. I went for a run on Monday over lunch and I couldn’t get my stride into a groove until 3 miles in to my 4+ mile run. Stuff hurt. Running and I just were not jiving. Maybe I’m getting tired of running in the same areas all the time. Maybe it is because this week marks a big turning point in marathon training. 15 miles this weekend. 16 miles the next. I’m starting to stare those big mileage weeks in the face and spending 3+ hours pounding the pavement has me quaking in my boots a bit. Hopefully I have a solution to the problem. I’m off to Kelowna, British Columbia this weekend to spend some quality time with the folks. I’ll be driving out on Saturday and saving my long run for Sunday. I’ll be able to run somewhere completely new, so hopefully the change in scenery will do me good.

I’ve been w/o the running mojo, big time. I was there a couple of weeks ago and will likely be back soon.

What helped for me was running in a different place (Seattle while on vacation) and running down roads I had never run down before. Some runs were longer, some shorter but at least they were knew.

Also, try running your route in reverse. That helped a bit.

I think we’ve all been there. You need that support group to get your butt back on the road. Don’t let the numbers scare you, you’ve done them before.

the 15-20 milers are scary and its normal to see usp and lows in marathon training… I think its normal if you find a way to kick yourself out the door then you will make your ultimate goal of kicking ass in Qc City!

Hang in there and have some fun in BC! =)

It happens to all of us, and you’ve done so many events in such a short period of time recently that a mojo loss is almost inevitable.

Try to not think of the runs as trainings, as some kind of “must do” events…and try to get back to the enjoyment of the sport. Hopefully the change in scenery will reinvigorate you as well

I only recently resurfaced from a running funk. Just stick with it and you’ll find your mojo again. I don’t blame you for dragging during the 10 on a Friday eve!

You’ll get your mojo back, don’t worry! I am struggling with getting my running in and enjoying it… maybe it’s because I am trying to get used to the heat?!

Your mojo could be hanging out with my mojo! I’ve lost it before and it always comes back and I know it will this time too. So will yours and watch out when it does…you will be stronger!

I know the feeling of the lack of mojo. Mine has been gone a long time. 🙁
