A Few Holiday Pictures

July 8, 2008 By: Runner Leana

I thought I would share a few shots of my trip to the Okanagan:

Mmm, I love merlot…
The start of Mission Creek Greenway – Phase 1:Time for a chocolate Clif Shot at mile 5. Hmm, I think I like the Hammer Gels better…
About 6.5 miles in on the Mission Creek Greenway:Leaving Phase 1, entering Phase 2…going uphill… I loved all the swanky pedestrian crossings along the way:This will make me run faster: “We care about our bears. Let’s keep our parks clean.”On the drive back home, approaching the summit of Rogers Pass (elevation 4534 ft or 1382 m) – with my very nervous dog on my lap:One of the most fabulous picnic spots ever – Takakkaw Falls in Yoho National Park. I don’t think my picture does it nearly enough justice to indicate just how big it is:Back home in Alberta!

The Mission Creek Greenway looks beautiful – it is so nice to have a nice run when you’re on vacation. Just make sure you’re noisy enough to keep the bears at bay!

I would definitely recommend taking some time to explore Yoho – the trails are fantastic with incredible things to see around every corner.

Wow, that is a great picnic spot. Only thing I think I’ve seen that might be better is the cobalt water I saw from the cliff on Maui while we were doing the Hana Drive…

    Great pics!

I’m a hammer gel kind of girl too. Clif gels are too thick and difficult to consume. Although if you need some electrolytes, the Powerbar 4x sodium ones give you lots of salt. A little nasty to get used to, but good way to get the necessary electrolytes in.
