Getting back to my roots

March 1, 2009 By: Runner Leana

Hair is a funny thing. I can definitely say that I’ve been through some interesting times with my hair. Like back in grade 8…the spiral perm. Come on folks, no judgement, it was the thing to do back then!Grade 8 Grad - ACS
When I first started fooling around with my hair I went blonde. Really blonde. This is at the Engineering Ball in my final year of university in 2001.Leana Jody E-Ball
I’ve had my hair pretty long, and a combination of light and dark…

I’ve also had it quite short, although it is hard to tell in this picture. Sorry, it is the best one I’ve got…63990019
I’ve also had the “my hairdresser says this is chocolate brown, but in sunlight it looks suspiciously red” colour…197 - Down the hatch!
Then most recently there was the “wow, it is nearly black” colour at Christmas…CIMG4846
Ever the one to mix things up I decided it was time to move away from the dark and try to get back to my natural colour, which is sort of a medium blonde. Well, it isn’t quite there yet since this is still quite a bit darker…but I did change things up slightly too…CIMG5197

It looks great! I’m blonde and recently went darker and people were SO mad at me! “You’re blonde! WHY would you go darker?!” I kinda like it darker! Did people flip on you too?

OH very nice. I go dark pretty much every winter, so now I”m getting eager to get some blonde action!

I can’t judge on the spiral perm, girl! I had a pretty crazy poodle-do in high school.

That’s good stuff…I just don’t know if I have the balls to pull out all my pictures. There was some serious hair going on in Michigan back in the 80’s;)

See you’re really lucky! You look great no matter what shade you pick. Me on the other hand? I could never go blonde without looking stupid LOL

So fun – You should turn this into a hair tag! I just got a scanner so let me see if I can dig up Audrey’s hair through the ages pics.

Like your new color and cut! Didn’t you have a stint with bangs too in your history?

Looking good! Love the new cut, I have to say that I prefer you in blonde/ light brown more than dark.

Interesting to see all the different hair dos and colors!

I too have gone through a variety of dos but not so much color, except back in the 80’s when I once bleached mine blonde in order to be able to have green/blue color added to it (my punk days!).

Dee Dee always asked me what color I like her hair. I say “Black, with a hint of gray!” ROFL… It is her natural color, which I prefer….
