Yesterday the Holiday Bootie Buster Challenge officially started! I felt really great about my workouts last week so I’m feeling pumped and strong to kick things off.
Monday I had the option of swimming or doing a 30 minute run. I opted for the run. I enjoy swimming but by the time I get to the pool, do my workout, shower, change and take the train home it has been 3 hours since I left work. I can go out for a 30 min run on my lunch break leaving more spare time in the evening. Since running and the Goofy Challenge is my focus I’m okay to put swimming on the back burner for the moment.
My run went pretty well. It wasn’t quite as warm out as I had anticipated since it was a cloudy day. Despite being a wee bit underdressed it was nice to be outside. 30 minutes down and put towards Pile on the Miles, HBBC and Goofy Challenge training.
Monday night was a bit of a gong show. I normally go to bed before 10 and I was *not* tired. When I finally went to bed I couldn’t fall asleep. By the time I drifted off it was a mere four hours until I had to get up. I felt surprisingly good during the day but I was flagging on my way home from work. I was ready to bail of my indoor spin class in favour of an early night. I had a snack and my energy picked back up so I loaded my bike in the car and made my way to class.
It was such a good class! I still haven’t fixed my cadence sensor so I was spinning blind but I still worked hard. We had a nice mix of power and low cadence strength sets. 1 hour and 25 minutes in the bank for HBBC.
How is your week going so far?
