Stocking Stuffer Ideas

December 5, 2012 By: Runner Leana

This year my husband and I have agreed to just swap stocking stuffer presents this Christmas since we’ll be going to Disney World in January.  In case you need stocking stuffer ideas for your favourite runner/triathlete I thought I’d put a little list together for you!

  1. Fun winter running accessories.  I love this Sugoi one with pieces of sushi on it, available at Team Estrogen.  Hint, hint Husband!!pre_8_4_08_SU-92930U-MAKThe Brisk Run Gloves from lululemon are also great for keeping your digits warm.  I’d love to try a pair of the mitts (especially in a fun colour)!LW9578S_9841_1
  2. Road ID.  Never leave home without your Road ID.  You hope that no one ever needs to use it, but I know my husband feels better knowing I’ve got his emergency contact information on me when I go for a ride.  It was time for me to return the favour and get him his own Road ID for Christmas.  Just don’t tell him, it is a secret!  E-mail me if you want a coupon code to put towards your order!wristIDElite_sm
  3. Smartwool socks.  These are my go to socks in the winter and when you are training for the Goofy Challenge you can never have too many pairs.  The PhD Outdoor Light Crew socks are my favourite.  Size medium in case you were wondering!2011_Fall_SW-SW335-ALL-a
  4. A gift card to your favourite store.  I definitely love me some lululemon but it is spendy stuff!  A gift card would be awesome!gift-cards-manifesto-EN-250x155
  5. Compression socks.  I know, another pair of socks?  Zensah’s argyle compression socks are cute and help aid in recovery.  What’s not to love about that?IMG_1361[4]
  6. Camelbak Podium Big Chill Bottle.  These are my favourite bottles to use on the run or on the bike.  The insulation was great for keeping my Infinit colder longer during Ironman Canada.bottles-podium-big-chill-clear-imola-blue-2010-300
  7. Fancy hot chocolate.  We all know that hot chocolate is the ultimate recovery drink, so why not up the luxury a little bit?  I love Williams Sonoma’s hot chocolate…in classic chocolate, peppermint or salted caramel.  You name it!  This stuff is very tasty.img70o
  8. Other ideas?  iTunes gift cards to buy songs for treadmill runs or indoor trainer rides.  Gu or nuun in your athlete’s favourite flavours.

What would you love to get in your stocking at Christmas?DSCN8093

Your 3 stockings are so cute!

Great list… I might just forward this to my husband. 😉 We are just doing stockings this year too.

I love those argyle compression socks (saw them in the Road Runner Sports catalog recently)! How about some fun colored arm warmers for those cool transition days (which by the look of it you are completely past up there!). I also really love Buffs – they have some really nice wool ones that are great for a neck warmer, ear warmer or face cover in the cold. I highly recommend these (and they are not too pricey).

How about plane tickets to Cincinnati to run the Indy 500 mini-marathon on May 4th & the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon on Sunday May 5th? They are only a 2 hour drive apart the SAME weekend (you get to run around the INDY 500 racetrack in the US’s largest half-marathons and the FP has one of the best medals & swag around!). Just sayin’…

I love stockings. You have some great ideas. I would love to get some new headbands for running. Lululemon ones would be just fine.

Great ideas! I also love that PEAT has his own stocking, Zoey does too. In fact, I don’t even have a stocking, neither does Justin, just Zoey.
