A few weeks ago I saw on twitter that nuun was accepting applications to run the 2013 Hood to Coast relay with them. To qualify you were not to have run Hood to Coast with nuun before, be a female, have an active blog, love nuun, and be really fun. Why that sounds just like me!!
I’m always up for some sort of crazy challenge, be it Ironman, the Goofy Challenge with an extra 5K race thrown in, running (more than) 13 races in 2013 or hiking up a mountain and running into a bear. I’ve never run a relay before though! It is something I’d really love to do, and if I could run Hood to Coast with nuun it would be an absolute dream come true. I love the Pacific Northwest and I love nuun!! I’ve posted many a time about how great nuun has worked in training and at the races for me. Without a doubt nuun played a huge role in my ability to stay hydrated at the Disney Marathon. It was so hot and humid and I was grateful I carried my own electrolytes with me so I could drink what I needed, when I needed it. I couldn’t believe it when I ran through all nine tabs of nuun (and actually ran out!) on race day. I felt strong and ran exactly the race I hoped to have. Thanks nuun for helping me reach my goal!
And in case you wonder if I may be fun to be around, you should definitely watch my anti-snow dance that I did in the hopes of generating good weather for the Glencoe Icebreaker 10K this morning.
I penciled out a concept for my application, recruited a few friends and got to recording! I compiled it all in iMovie which made the process pretty straightforward. In fact it was so fun that you may see more videos from me in the future… And without further ado, here is my application video!
So nuun, what could you expect if you pick me to be on your Hood to Coast team? There would be plenty of loud cheering, bad singing and more silly dancing. I’d be sharing my love of my number one product, nuun, with everyone around me. Plus I’d probably pass along tips about my second favourite product, the miracle cream also known as Vagisil. Chaffing problem? Try a dab of Vagisil! Mosquito bite? Put some Vagisil on it! Mysterious rash? Hold on, let me grab the Vagisil! In fact, I’d probably bring a tube for everyone on the team!
Anyhoo…enough about Vagisil…please pick me nuun!
And because everyone loves some bloopers, here are a few outtakes from my video. And wish me luck as I nervously wait for nuun to announce their Hood to Coast relay team on April 17th!
It turned out awesome! Crossing my fingers for you 🙂
Ha! Love it! I hope they pick you!!
That’s awesome!! I sure hope you get picked. My running instructor did that race a few years ago and she said it was a blast.
Good luck Leana! I so would have loved to try out this year but I’ve already got too much on the schedule! I hope you get in and then you can give me some pointers for next year!
These vids are cracking me up. Here is hoping Nuun picks us!!!
Good luck! Love the video! Hope to meet you in Oregon!
