Today is my last day in the 30-34 age category. On Friday I’m aging up!! That’s right, I’m turning 35!
I’m not normally a big birthday celebration kind of girl but my 35th birthday is starting to look kind of awesome. Why? I got an amazing birthday present from Nuun today! I was a little bummed to not get chosen for their Hood to Coast team, but with so many fantastic applications I know it must have been really difficult for them to choose. I vowed to keep drinking Nuun and to start planning my 2014 Nuun Hood to Coast application.
The Runner Leana house is well stocked with Nuun in the event of a zombie apocalypse.
Then out of the blue I got an e-mail from Nuun this morning that they would still like to get to know me better and to get me involved with Nuun. Would I be interested in joining their team for Ragnar Northwest Passage?
My heart flip flopped in my chest and I thought about it for all of about 0.6 seconds. 100 times yes, I would love to run Ragnar with them! I almost half expected to get an e-mail later telling me that there was an oops, but later this evening this happened:
Many thanks to Nuun for wanting to run with me! I’m so excited that I’ll get to meet the awesome people there, some other amazing bloggers and to run a relay in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We’ll be running from Blaine to Langley, Washington and covering 196 miles. Every runner gets to run three legs, with varying difficulty and ranging from ~13 to almost 21 miles of total distance.
Pretty soon I won’t be able to say this anymore!
Have you run a relay before?
I’ve done the 100 on 100 relay here in Vermont twice and it was a ton of fun.
Sweet! Congratulations! and Happy birthday!
I did K-100 last year and it was pretty awesome despite the rain. You’re going to love it!
So happy you said yes! 🙂 Looking forward to meeting you this summer!
Congrats! I ran this race with Nuun last year and you are going to have an absolute blast! From what I’ve heard Ragnar is WAY less crowded and more laid back than Hood to Coast so for your first relay I think you are really going to enjoy it! Hopefully I’ll see all you Nuunies out on the course!!
Congrats! That’s awesome you’re doing Ragnar with NUUN! Also, awesome stash, JEALOUS!
As someone above noted, be prepared for rain…it’s been very cold and rainy in portland recently.
Can’t wait to read your race recap post-race…I’m sure it’ll be full of fun relay tails of toilet paper, peanut butter, bananas, bad breath, smelly vans, etc. Relay’s are the best!
that’s exciting! congrats!! (and happy belated bday!)
Congratulations on being chosen for the Nuun Ragnar relay race! That’s very exciting news!
Looking forward to running it with you on Team Nuun Hydration!

That’s exciting! Relays can be a lot of fun! (I ran the Relay Around Columbus overnight relay last summer). What a great way to celebrate your birthday! Happy 35th!
