It was Victoria Day here in Canada today! What have I been up to this long weekend?
I picked up my bike from its spring tune up on Friday. It was time to wash the splashes of Infinit from Ironman Canada off the bike and now it is beautiful and sparkly clean. Plus some fast and hot looking new red tires! Too bad I can’t seem to find my gear bag that was on the back of the seat…
For dinner on Friday we made an amazing Nicoise salad with grilled tuna. It was delicious!
On Saturday I went for my first outdoor ride of the year! The weather was beautiful and I had a great ride. Kelly and I rode for time, going almost 60K in 2:15.
I had a long run to do on Sunday. I found some nifty art on the sidewalk.
It looked like it was going to rain any moment the entire time I was out there! Luckily the clouds only threatened rain.
I had some hill repeats to do during my long run – 5 x 2:00 repeats. After a strong 6 miles the last of those five repeats were hard, but I got it done!
All in all it was a 9 mile run and I felt great! Peat was super happy to see me when I got home. He’s such a snuggly, sweet little guy!
Sunday night was pretty epic as a Top Chef fan. One of our favourite restaurants, CHARCUT (home of TC Canada season 1 finalist Connie DeSousa), was hosting Chef Sheldon Simeon from Top Chef Seattle. The dinner was amazing!
We had a hamachi crudo, turkey heart schnitzel, tapioca noodles with clams and pork belly, a cowboy rib eye with cheesy bread and freshly shaved truffles on top, finished with a Maui pineapple and lemongrass milk cake.
No pictures for Monday sadly! I met up with some fellow bloggers to chat about doing a relay together later this year. Cori, Michelle and Tina all went for a 5K run, then I met them for coffee after. We totally missed getting a group picture at coffee!
How was your weekend?
OMG!!!! dinner looks FAB! so does that nicoise salad too. mmmmmm.
And yeh. dumb…how DID we miss a photo opp???
Leana, you are looking really good. Just saying. 🙂 Sounds like a good time.
Soooooooo jealous you got to meet Sheldon! He was my favourite! Oh and the dinner sounded delish too. By the way, what kind of vest are you wearing in those pics…it looks cool!
Sounds like an awesome weekend! Cool sidewalk art, it’s always neat to find things like that on a run 🙂
