Last year Husband Neil and I had a blast at Disney World while we were there for the Tower of Terror 10 Miler race.
We particularly loved the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival.
Mmm, yummy bites of food and delicious beverages. I still think about that amazing lobster roll we ate last year. What isn’t to love about the Food & Wine Festival?
We also thoroughly enjoyed Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!
So many characters to meet, so many rides, and so much trick or treating to do…
Neil and I are really excited to go back for the Tower of Terror in October 2013. Our plane tickets are booked, one of two hotels booked, we’ve got all of our dining reservations, along with tickets for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (including a plan for costumes)!
As for the race? You can read my Tower of Terror 10 Miler race report from last year here along with my Happy Haunted 5K Trail Run here. The race was well organized and before and after the race were a good time! I particularly loved the DJ playing before the race as he kept the crowd pumped as we waited for the race to start. I thought we’d be bored waiting around but the time flew by as I was dancing the time away. As for the course? It was a little boring since we only ran through one park and that was right at the end of the race. There also weren’t that many characters out. The after party seemed like a good time but after the race in the heat and humidity I felt a little ill after going on our first ride at Toy Story Mania. We called it a night pretty early. The race was fun and we knew we’d be back in 2013, but felt it could be improved, especially in comparison to some of the other stellar races Run Disney puts on. Luckily last year’s participants had an opportunity to let Run Disney know how we felt about the race and it looks like they listened to us! Run Disney is promising more thrills and chills along the race this year! Just watch…
I cannot wait to see what they have in store for us! I don’t think the course is changing, but I have no doubt that Run Disney will make this race spooktacular for us! I also vow to last longer at the after party at Hollywood Studios than I did last year, or way back when I ran the Tower of Terror 13K race back in 2007 and almost got sick on the Great Movie Ride. Yeah, I know, the slowest moving ride in all of Hollywood Studios and I got crazy motion sick on it…
Are you running Disney’s Tower of Terror 10 Miler? If you’ve run it before, what did you think of the race?
You make me want to go there and do this! Well, the race part sounds a bit disappointing but that food looks delish! Enjoy!
I’d love to do the tower of terror one day but this year I’ve got Wine & Dine, stoked about the food and wine festival! You’ll have to give me a preview 🙂
I’m so jealous! I haven’t done any other of the events at Disney World except for the January races. Can’t wait to read what all the changes were all about.
