*I still owe you my Ragnar recap, plus a recap on my second relay experience!! In the meantime…
I am always a little worried about forgetting a key component when I pack my work clothes in my swim bag and then head off to the pool. Yet still I dress in my swimsuit, sweats and sneakers and pack my work ready clothes in a bag to put on after the pool. I’ve been pretty lucky so far with only minorly important things forgotten, if at all.
Until today.
I distinctly remember picking up a bra from my pile of laundry and looking at it. In my “it’s only 4:30 am haze” did I put it back down on the bed? Or did I put it in my bag, only to have it fall out as I traipsed down the stairs with my swim bag unzipped? I’m not sure.
As I stood in the locker room I tore apart my bag multiple times, in complete disbelief. I am not one of those lucky, small chested women that can get away going sans support. I also had a schedule packed full of meetings in the morning, the first of which was starting in 45 minutes. There would be no going home to remedy the situation. Luckily I was able to reschedule a half hour meeting and make a mad dash to The Bay soon after they opened. I opted to take the train from work, figuring it would be my fastest way to get there. One was pulling in to the station and I had to giddy up and run to catch it. I felt a mixture of happiness at my luck to catch a train so quickly, relief that my poor tired legs (post half marathon) were able to run that fast and apology for anyone that caught sight of me running. I raced to The Bay and found a suitable emergency back up plan.
Look, it was even on sale!
The wonderful sales lady who checked me out assured me that this was not an uncommon occurence at her store. With the girls secured and my confidence restored I rushed back to work to make my next meeting with a few minutes to spare. I think I may have set some kind of shopping record!
What is the worst thing you’ve ever forgotten in your swim bag?
A swim suit.
You scored a great deal for your lifesaver! I am new to swimming so I have yet to forget anything. I have left out both my garmin and running socks before though. That sucked.
Tee hee, I feel your panic! I’ve forgotten bra, undies and socks on different occasions so I keep a spare or each in a bag in my workout bag just in case!
I’ve forgotten my bra many times, but I’m usually coming home after the swim. I can’t go braless either, so I get the challenge. I’ve also forgotten a towel, but know the lifeguards well enough, I can usually borrow one.
This is why I always pack my bag the night before. I can’t be trusted to remember anything in the morning!!
I can’t think of a time I forgot something to go swimming- obviously nothing memorable!
I have forgotten to bring shorts or a shirt to the gym before.
