As I took Peat outside for a walk at 6 am the other morning I marvelled over how dark it is at that hour now and how chilly it is too. Despite our warm temperatures we’ve been getting in the afternoons it is unmistakable that fall is on its way.
August kicked off with the best news ever. I had been selected to join Oiselle’s Voleé team!
Already I’ve found so much love and support from these ladies on twitter. I can’t wait to run my first official race as a bird this weekend!
I also finally took a leap and registered www.runnerleana.com. It has been a long time coming!
Neil and I attended an old Team Tri Life friend’s wedding!
I raced my final triathlon of 2013 at the Strathmore Women’s Triathlon. I did not meet my goal of going sub-30:00 on the 5K run in the event, but I’m optimistic that one day soon I’ll be there!
And of course there was the final push to train for the Kelowna Wine Country Half Marathon. I had plenty of good runs and some bad runs too.
Here are my goals for September:
- Have a great race this weekend in Kelowna. Execute well and stay positive! I’m hesitant to put a time goal out there, but I’m hoping to beat my time from when I ran the half marathon portion of the Calgary 70.3 back at the end of July.
- Neil and I cheated and went out for a celebratory dinner on Tuesday, but when we are home from here on out, no more dinners out for the rest of the month!
- Get in at least one hike this month. We haven’t had a chance to hit the trails in the mountains yet this year and that makes me a little sad.
What are your goals for September? Can you believe just how quickly this year is flying by??
I will be sharing the course with you on Saturday in Kelowna, good luck on your run! Safe travels.
I have a half marathon at the end of the month. My goal is to not have a PW. I plan to run/walk it as I am very undertrained. I plan to enjoy the next two raceless weekends with some good bike rides.
