Somewhere over a year ago Neil and I had our hallways painted. We took the pictures off the walls prior to painting, then got lazy on hanging them back up. Finally the blank walls in the hallway between the bedrooms in our house started to get to me and they needed something on them! I have a few special medals that have been framed up: my first two half Iron distance races and my first Ironman.
I’ve been collecting my race medals in a little bag and leaving them on top of my dresser. I knew I wanted to display them somehow, I just wasn’t sure exactly how. I like the fancy metal displays but I thought that might not be big enough. Instead I opted to go with a curtain rod.

We can easily swap medals out as our collection grows. I love finally having my very first Goofy Challenge medals on the wall right now though:

Display Your Race Bibs
Because some of the bibs we get are so pretty I wanted to show those off too. I picked up the spontan magnetic board from IKEA and hung it on the wall.
I’m loving that our hallway no longer has boring, bare walls. It is also a nice reminder of our accomplishments too!

What do you do with your race bling?
I like it! I have my medals hanging on my wall in my living room. I use one of the smaller medal holders, but it’s getting crowded. I like your idea of the curtain rod!
your medals look so pretty! and we repainted the hallway too… at least a year ago, and still haven’t hung anything back up… lol. (bummed about vegas! but totally understand)
Looks good Leana! I have done the same thing using two small towel racks. I think one long one looks even better!
I like what you’ve done. I have all my bibs on my fridge stacked up – awful. I have a medal display thingie but way too small. I have made photo books that I really like for each year of racing. Every race gets a page. And I have scrapbooks (simple ones to keep track of stats etc.) but not on display.
