Compression socks have come a long way in the last few years. When I bought my first pair a few years ago they were a boring white. Thank goodness for lunatik athletiks for bringing fun to compression socks!
I love the colourful and vibrant designs of compression socks and sleeves that lunatik athletiks has.
Just check out the electric rainbow, vibrance, energetic argyle and hot rockin dots socks above! These socks aren’t just cute though, they have 20-30mm-Hg of compression, similar to ProCompression’s socks if you’ve tried them out. That means they are serious graduated compression socks, designed to reduce the build up of lactic acid and improve recovery!
So how would these socks hold up in an intense spin class, during a running race, or for recovery? I picked out the rockin dots socks for my review and I wore them to spin class on the day the socks arrived. There were a lot of compliments from my fellow spin classmates!
We had a hard strength session on the bike with a lot of low cadence and standing work. I could tell my legs were getting a workout! The lunatik athletiks compression socks were super comfortable and supported my calf muscles during the hard workout. I was worried I’d be incredibly sore the next day, but I kept the socks on after class for recovery and my legs felt great. I went for a run the next day and I expected my legs to feel heavy from spin class, but my lunatik socks definitely helped my recovery and kept my legs feeling fresh!
With spin class and recovery tested out next up I figured I’d try my lunatik socks out on a running race at the Banff Winterstart 5 Miler.
I was definitely taking a chance wearing socks I’ve never run in before at a race, let alone a race where we’d be trudging through snow. These lunatik socks were awesome though! Not only did my calves feel great as I ran up the steep road to Tunnel Mountain, my feet were happy. The socks didn’t move or slide and I didn’t have any hot spot or blister issues.
All in all, I love these socks and I need to add another pair or two to my collection. I’ve got my eye on the electric rainbow socks! lunatik athletiks socks retail for $44 per pair, which is right and in line with similar compression socks. They ship within Canada as well.
Do you love fun socks? Have you tried lunatik athletiks before?
**lunatik athletiks sent me a pair of socks to review, however all opinions are my own.**
I would love to try them…so very fun!
Absolutely need to try those.
Ahh!! I love how fun they are! Finally something funky!!
I saw them at a race expo last month but was scared to try them. I love my CEPs but they don’t come in fun designs like these. Thanks for the review. Oh, and I’ve never thought about wearing compression socks to spin class before. Great idea!!
I learned about Lunatik compression socks a few months ago and I have the same rockin’ dots pair as you. I’m planning to wear them for my upcoming marathon. It’s a fun way to stand out a bit from the crowd. I think electric rainbow will be my next choice too.
