2015 WDW Marathon corral assignments are out!

December 10, 2014 By: Runner Leana

The waivers and corral assignments are now up on Run Disney for the WDW Marathon weekend!  I think that last year Disney switched their race start to include a lot more corals, but they were smaller and started more frequently to hopefully ease up on the congestion on the course.

WDW Marathon Corrals

Holy smokes my friends, the corrals go from Elite to P!  My 2:08 half marathon time from the BMO Vancouver half in May was good enough to get me to corral I.  I remember my first Goofy Challenge where I started in corral C…

Does anyone else remember the blue and red split starts for the marathon?

I also remember my last Goofy Challenge in 2013 where I started in corral D and it was incredibly crowded out on the course.

It felt like there were always a ton of people around.  I particularly remember the stretch between the Richard Petty speedway and Animal Kingdom as being really crowded and it was hard to move through the sea of people.  The lines for photos with the characters were also really long and we were afraid to stop for any of them for fear we’d be too slow.  I am really hoping this new corral system will make all of that better!

Are you running Disney this year?  What corral are you in?  Did you run last year, and if so how did you find the new corrals affected congestion on the course?

How it’s grown! I remember the red/blue split from 2009. We’re just old vets 😉 Hope training is going well!
