Today I’m linking up with MCM Mama, My No Guilt Life and Run the Great Wide Somewhere for Tuesdays on the Run to talk about my dream races!
Since I love to race both triathlons and running races I figured I’d pick my dream race for both disciplines.
Triathlon: Lake Stevens 70.3
I love the Pacific Northwest and I absolutely loved the Lake Stevens 70.3 race. I did not have a great day when I raced here back in 2009 so this is on my list of races with unfinished business. I will be back one day!!
What makes this race so great?
The swim is in a crystal clear lake. The year that I raced you could see the line of rope underwater connecting the buoys together. The bike course is beautiful and challenging…up and down hills through the trees.
The run course is also very pretty. You run along the lake, and you run through the main intersection in town four times where the crowd support is huge.
Lake Stevens is a small town where you feel removed from it all, yet you are close to Everett and Seattle, making for a great post-race vacation.
Running: Medoc Marathon
For my dream running race I would love to run the Medoc Marathon in France one year.
You race through vineyards, from chateau to chateau, tasting wine along the way. All of the runners dress up in costume, making this a very festive affair.
This race combines several things on my wish list…visit France, wine tour in France, and race in fun and interesting places. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to toe the line here!
Tell me about your dream race! Do either the Lake Stevens 70.3 or Medoc Marathon sound like races you’d add to your wish list?
I think that is a great list! My dream race is not a location, but an experience. Since being plagued with running injuries, all I want is a triathlon (olympic or half iron would be good enough!) where I feel prepared, confident, and have a strong race from beginning to end. I don’t know if I’ll ever have it, but I can’t seem to give up the dream!
Oh no Amy, running injuries suck! I hope you are able to have that dream race experience where you feel healthy and confident. Fingers crossed for you!!

Medoc is also on my bucket list. Justin has been wanting to do this for many many years!
Medoc sounds amazing!
I might try something similar closer to home and see if I can get in to Half Corked next year 🙂

Like a previous poster said, my dream race isn’t a location either. I would just love to get through another race without any issues. -M
I’ve had a small mimosa during a race (Gate River Run 15k) but I’m not sure my tummy could handle wine all along the course! Sounds like an absolutely gorgeous race though! Thanks for linking up with us today!
You actually taste wine while running? If this was a half marathon I think I would be all in but wine and a full marathon would be tough!

Fun! I’m running the Half Corked Marathon in Oliver this year – 18K of running and wine tasting! It should be fun but I need to practice my wine drinking. My dream race is Rock n Roll Ireland – or just running in Ireland 🙂
