Happy Thursday my friends! Thursday means it is time link up with Amanda from Running with Spoons to share my random thoughts!
Exciting news this week…I got discharged from physio! I’m now back to pretty well my full activity level and (knock on wood) my knees are feeling great. I had one last round of accupuncture for good measure on Monday.
I think one of the most disappointing things is when food doesn’t taste good. I had picked up two steaks for the Thai Beef with Udon Noodles recipe that I had planned for this week. We wound up skipping the recipe in favour of grilling up the steaks with some grilled eggplant, zuchini and red peppers on the side. Sadly the taste of the steak just wasn’t good! This is the second round of steaks from the same grocery store that didn’t taste as delicious as I hoped. Time to make a concerted effort to buy beef elsewhere…
Ironman and the WTC must have gotten tired of all of the calls for sending #50womentokona so they made an announcement saying no changes will be made to the current qualifying procedures. I’m not surprised by this announcement but I am very disappointed. They don’t specifically address the pro race so is there hope that they may change their minds on this issue later? I don’t understand why they are digging their heels in on this issue when this issue has such a simple fix. What is the reasoning behind having fewer slots for the female pros?
On a happier note, Neil and I are off to see the Book of Mormon tonight! This is a show I’ve been keen to see for awhile (I just didn’t want to pay big bucks to see it in NY two years ago). A few weeks ago I was googling some of the tunes from the show and I found this. So catchy and fun.
I finally got up the gumption to sign up for the half marathon at the Calgary Marathon this year. The Calgary Half Marathon was my very first ever half marathon back in 2007. I’m excited to take part again this year!
And finally Finlay is here for a visit! It is hard to believe this little guy is 14.5 years old now. He’s such a cute little guy.
Have a wonderful Thursday friends! Tell me what your favourite play or musical is that you’ve seen!
I’ve heard really good things about the Book of Mormon. I hope you enjoy it!

I saw Grease in London, England when I was there and it was SO GOOD! I never thought I would like musicals but it was incredible and everyone was so talented! I saw the musical of “A Christmas Story” back in December here in St. Albert and it was also amazing!

Finlay is like the Peter Pan of dogs…he definitely doesn’t look 14 at all! Unfortunately he seems to be getting more and more tired though so he is acting older. ;(

I haven’t seen a lot of musicals, but I really loved watching Beauty and the Beast on stage! And I know what you mean about being disappointed when food doesn’t really taste as good as you thought it would. I think that’s one of the reasons that I prefer to cook at home than eat out!

Yes!! I think less delicious food is even more disappointing if you’ve gone out to eat!
Beauty and the Beast would definitely be a fun musical to see. Hope you are having a great weekend!

We buy all our beef from a rancher that we know in Claresholm – it’s incredible. Let me know if you want to order some meat?
Yes!! I would love to know more!!
