Happy Thursday my friends! Thursday means it is time link up with Amanda from Running with Spoons to share my random thoughts!
How was your Easter? It was really nice to spend time with my family. My parents were here and we were able to get together with my brother, his girlfriend and my niece quite a bit. It was really nice to have Peat and Finlay together too. They really enjoyed hanging out on the deck in the sun.
This morning I feel a bit like a hot mess. I swam this morning, then rushed home to get ready for work. I had to iron a pair of pants and I was so sad to see that the colour on it had gone somewhat splotchy! Some parts were a lighter grey, some parts were a darker grey. I’m sad…they were one of my favourite pairs of pants, grey Andie chinos from JCrew that go with anything. On another note, I own five pairs of Andie chinos in different colours. I’m sad JCrew isn’t making them this year. Oh…and the blouse I’m wearing shrunk in the wash so now the proportions on it seem off.
One good thing from this morning (apart from the good swim I had) was that I booked my flights for Ragnar Wasatch Back this morning! I’m excited to meet up with some of the Oiselle team girls to run around Utah. It is such a beautiful state so I’m excited to explore it more on foot.
It was time for a new pair of goggles and my favourite store Tri-It just got in a big shipment of Roka goggles. They come in 8 different tints for a wide variety of lighting situations. I picked up a pair of F1 goggles (the medium size ones) in a light amber tint because they are supposed to be great in low light. These are perfect in the indoor pool where I swim. I don’t think my field of vision has ever been so clear with goggles before either. So far love these!
And oh hey…I also picked up another toy recently… The Garmin Forerunner 920XT… Isn’t she pretty?
And finally…deoderant. I’m a sweaty gal, as is evidenced by the number of sweaty armpits that appear in my selfies.
Fair enough, sweating happens. I’ve been using prescription strength deoderant for a few years now and I recently started to notice that I wasn’t always passing the sniff test. A friend of mine had been raving about Schmidt’s Deodorant. It is an all natural deodorant that actually works, made of ingredients you’ve probably heard of in Portland, Oregon. I picked up a jar at Tri-It and so far I love it. Yes, you are still going to sweat (because it is a deodorant and not an anti-perspirant) but there are no issues with the sniff test! I bought a jar of Bergamot and Lime which smells heavenly. I also discovered that you can buy little travel sizes from their Etsy shop. I snagged up a 5 pack so I could try each scent (and carry in all of my workout bags). You can use code “HAPPYTRAVEL” through 04/16 to get 15% off your purchase and shipping is super reasonable to Canada.
Tell me what deodorant you use. Happy Thursday friends!
Ohhhhhh, I’m intrigued by those deodorants. I’ve tried other natural ones and they are NOT helpful at all!

You can find them at Tri-It, plus the Bownesian Grocer if you want to pick some up in a store. Right now I think Tri It has all of the scents available.

Confession: I don’t even own an iron 😆 It’s a good thing my work doesn’t require me to dress up all professional, because otherwise I’d be in trouble. Or I’d just have to buy an iron and some kind of “office clothes.”

I’m a deoderant crystal kind of gal 🙂
Have you tried Routine deodorant? It’s outstanding! I’ve been left hung out to dry by so many “natural” deodorants and this one hasn’t let me down yet!

Erin I’ve never heard of Routine before. I love that it is locally made in Calgary! I’m going to have to go suss some out. Do you have a favourite scent/formulation?

I like the “Like a Boss” one, because I’m kind of stinky, also it’s kind of “unisex” scented so DH and I could share the jar while we figure out if it works for us. Blackberry Betty smells really great too.
OOOHh…need to check out the deodorant also. Like the fragrance choices. The fact that I sweat, I can live with.
