Thinking Out Loud 05.07.2015

May 7, 2015 By: Runner Leana

Happy Thursday! As usual I’m linking up with Amanda from Running With Spoons to share my random thoughts.

Thinking-Out-Loud

It is time to head to California for the Tinker Bell half marathon weekend!  You may remember a few weeks ago I mentioned that Neil didn’t believe I could overcome my chronic over packing tendencies and travel with just a carry on suitcase.  My friends, I succeeded.  I was able to pack everything I needed for two races, one shakeout run and multiple days of park hopping, thrill riding and Dole Whip consuming good times in one Canadian icon printed wheeled suitcase.  My fairy wings may arrive slightly bent out of shape but otherwise I did pretty well.

I also have a goal to add for the half marathon on Sunday.  My coach commented on all of the twists and turns on the course.

I need to focus on running those tangents!

My coach raced Ironman 70.3 St. George last weekend and she did awesome!  She came in third in her age group.  The setting for the race looks stunning but the difficulty of the course scares the pants off of me.  I’d kind of like to go do this race one year though!

I think one of the best places to discover new music is at Victoria’s Secret.  Really!  I was shopping there the other day and I could have Shazamed every single song.

I was going to place an order from Sephora to get this fragrance sampler as a “gift with purchase.”  Then I realized I was shopping the US version of their website and there are no cute free fragrance samplers on the Canadian side.  Darn it.  I thought these would be handy for travelling.

Alright friends…it is now time to go run some races.  Have a great weekend!

I’m the -worst- when it comes to overpacking. Or maybe the best 😆 I think what helped me the most was getting a smaller suitcase that I literally couldn’t pack everything into… and I like it because it means I have to cart around less stuff and there’s not so much clutter. Good luck on your race this weekend!!!

I hate when that happens at Sephora. For US only pfftt!
But you can always go into Sephora and ask for fragrance samplers anytime. I do that for travelling.
Good luck this weekend, you will rock it.

I bow to your ability to pack just a carry-on bag for this trip! I have to constantly beg my hubby for spare corners in his suitcase I over pack so badly.
Best of luck in all your races this weekend and most importantly, have fun! Just think, you might be able to buy a perfume sampler in a Sephora while you are down there:)

Good luck this weekend – looks like perfect racing weather (for Southern CA, at least).
And I just did St. George. Wow, your coach rocks!

My garmin had vancouver at 42.6 400 meters over!!! I totally didn’t run the tangents. Learned something new. I tried to follow the short curve. Have a great weekend and love the suitcase!

YES! Run the tangents. No need to run an extra half mile…..just because. 🙂
