Sigh…is it really Monday already? Things were a bit quieter this weekend than last which was actually pretty nice.
On Saturday morning I had a 2 hour run to do. This would be my final and longest run before the Tinker Bell half marathon next weekend. Outside it looked sunny and nice…but little did I know that the wind was absolutely ridiculous. I felt like I was barely moving and I wanted to cry, turn around and go back home.
You pick your weather on race day so I persevered on. I thought if I ducked off the pathway and onto the trails that things may be a bit more sheltered from the wind. Anything in an attempt to get off the struggle bus!
One of the other benefits of getting off the pathways is seeing interesting things…like this survey marker on the side of the ridge.
Running along a boardwalk was pretty neat too.
It was far from my best run but I did accomplish my goal and run for 2 hours. I’m glad I didn’t quit!
In the afternoon I had to make a quick trip to the mall. I decided to use up the final $0.80 on my Starbucks card and try the new s’mores Frapuccino.
Verdict? It tasted really sweet and I didn’t really get the s’mores flavour. Oh well!
On Sunday I was up at a silly early hour to get on my bike.
I needed to get my workout done early so I could meet up with a friend for breakfast at Corbeaux Bakehouse at 8:30. Even Peat wasn’t quite ready to be up yet. He slept nearby for a good portion of my spin!
Breakfast at Corbeaux was delicious. I tried their Croque Madame.
Their macarons are phenomenal.
I didn’t have time for my 30 minute brick before breakfast so I went out later in the afternoon. I guess it technically isn’t a brick but at least I got the time in on my feet!
And that is my weekend in a nutshell. What did you get up to this weekend?
Once again I’m linking up with Tara from Running ‘n’ Reading for her Weekend Update Link Up!
You had me at macarons! Looks like an awesome weekend of some great workouts! Good luck in your last week before Tinker Bell!
Thanks so much Christy! Have a great week!

Ugh the wind was pretty brutal on my run this weekend too. Luckily I was mostly treed in so it was manageable. I thought that amore frappuccino was supposed to have a cookie straw! You got ripped off.

What? It’s supposed to have a cookie straw? Well now I’m disappointed!
Glad to hear the wind was manageable on your run!

I don’t know how I feel about that Smores drink! Don’t get me wrong, I know eating smores but am not sure about drinking them!
Great job on getting your run done in the wind!!

Yup, I love eating smores as well but the drink was just kind of meh. Oh well, I figured I had to try it!

I HATE running in the wind! I will take rain, cold, snow or heat any day over the wind. Way to stick with it and get it done!
Have a great week!

You obviously don’t auto reload your Starbucks card like I do 🙂 haha.
Would you believe I haven’t been to Corbeaux yet? Or The Beltliner? I definitely need to fix that soon!

I took the auto reload off my card once I stopped drinking Starbucks coffee. I just can’t anymore…blech!
Oh…you definitely have to try Corbeaux. I haven’t tried Beltliner yet either but it sounds delicious!

Um, you take *the best* selfies. When I take selfies, the background’s out-of-focus and I usually look super awkward. Well done!
And that Croque Madame…
