2015 Triathlete Gift Guide

November 24, 2015 By: Runner Leana

Every year I like to come up with a list of gift ideas for the favorite runner or triathlete in your life…just in case you are feeling a little stumped for what to get them this holiday season.  Below is my 2015 triathlete gift guide!

2015 Triathlete Gift Guide

Inspirational temporary tattoos from Tattly

Does your favorite athlete have a big race on the schedule next year?  Sometimes a brief reminder of something positive can help to pull them out of a mental trench when they start to struggle on race day.  These awesome temporary tattoos could do just that!  There are several designs on Tattly that would do the trick but below are two of my favorites. I first spotted these on Erin Klegstad‘s Instagram post Ironman Wisconsin.  I’m planning on picking some up for Ironman Boulder next year!

iTunes Gift Card (value varies)

Chances are your favorite athlete is spending some quality time on an indoor bike trainer, running on the treadmill or at an indoor track this winter.  Help them to liven up the playlist on their iPod with an iTunes gift card.  Or perhaps they could put it towards a subscription for Triathlete magazine on their iPad?

Skratch Labs Cookie Mix ($8.50 US)

Skratch Labs Cookie Mix

By now your favorite triathlete is likely sick of energy gels, chews and bars.  Time to get back to eating real food…and yes, that can even mean eating cookies.  See why you have permission to eat cookies for fueling here.  Skratch Labs cookie mix is delicious and easy to make.  Just add in your favorite mix ins (chocolate chips, nuts or fruit) or get inspired by some other fun recipes.  Find it at your local Skratch dealer or you can buy online.

Believe Training Journal

The Believe Training Journal would be a great gift for your favorite athlete.  Sure, they may log all of their workouts online, but this training journal helps to delve into goal setting, motivation, and maintaining a healthy relationship with sport.  Available via VeloPress, Picky Bars (autographed), Oiselle (also autographed), Amazon.com and Amazon.ca to name a few!  It also comes in an updated version in lavender and grey.

2005-2014 IRONMAN World Championship Kona DVD Set ($99.95 US)

Any time your athlete needs a dose of inspiration, popping in an Ironman World Championship DVD is bound to do just that.  You’ll be moved by the athleticism and talent of the professionals and in awe of the age groupers competing for something bigger than themselves.

I am new to tri this year and gosh the gear is $$$. I’d love another tri suit but I’m asking for entry and travel expenses to run the London Marathon. One can dream. Thanks for linking up!

The cookie mix looks really good! I always struggle to find healthy versions that I don’t have to make from scratch!

Those temporary tattoos look like fun! I know a lot of people get tattoos after they finish their first “big” race – whether it be a half, full, Ironman, etc. I’m just not that committed to permanent ink! I like that they can be inspirational too. Great idea!

I would love an ITunes giftcard. It doesn’t take long to spend money on a few songs here and there.
