Um…hi…how is it already almost December?? First up, a very happy birthday to my mom!
Also a very happy Thanksgiving to my friends in the US. I hope you all have a wonderful day today! Next up, it is Thursday which means it is time to link up with the lovely Amanda from Running With Spoons for Thinking Out Loud.
Do you struggle with motivation or mental strength? If so, I wanted to share a very exciting challenge you can take part in. Starting on December 1st, the Rising Tide FREE 10-Day Challenge will help you with Creating Routines for Inevitable Success. Each day you’ll be given a prompt to help you build a routine that will help you tackle each workout and each race with more confidence, motivation and focus. Triathlon coach Sonja Wieck will walk you through, step by step, the exact process of creating a custom pre-race or pre-workout routine that she has used to amp up motivation, secure confidence and hone in focus while creating more fun, connection, and awesome PRs as a result. Sign up here!
It is that time of year when it takes longer to put on all of the layers to walk the dog in -16C (or -21C with the wind chill) than you actually spend walking the dog. Wool socks, leggings, ski pants, tank top, long sleeve, fleece hoodie, fleece scarf, down jacket, down mittens, toque and head lamp.
Can we talk about how difficult it can be to buy things in the US when you don’t have a US billing address sometimes? Case in point…movie tickets. I tried purchasing directly through AMC, then Fandango (utilizing both direct credit card, PayPal and Visa Checkout) with no luck. I investigated buying gift cards however most online e-card retailers won’t sell to a non-US billing address either. Thankfully a few friends and family members in the US offered to purchase a gift card for us so I was able to grab those movie tickets!
Are you planning on shopping Black Friday tomorrow or will you be sitting it out? More and more Canadian retailers seem to be hopping on the Black Friday bandwagon every year. While I have no doubt I will regret it as I circle the parking lot I will most likely pop by the mall after work on Friday afternoon. What I really need Black Friday deals are on a new saddle for my bike and airfare to Phoenix to run the Phoenix marathon in February and somehow I don’t think I’ll find those at the mall…
Alright my friends, that is all I have for you this week. Tell me your favourite Thanksgiving dish! My favourite is my mom’s stuffing.
I’m hoping to do some online shopping for black friday. I got some good deals at the mall last year but this year I work and I don’t think I want to face the crowds in the afternoon. You’re a brave soul!

I’m thinking about going to the mall this afternoon instead of tomorrow. The one store I want to visit started their sale today so hopefully it will be a little bit less busy than waiting until tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

I say Bah! to shopping at the best of times. Just before major holidays is very far from the best of times. I’m seriously tempted to try one of those, don’t buy anything but food for a year, things.

If anything, I might try and see if I can score any deals online because dealing with the mall crowds can be a bit of a nightmare. I don’t -really- need anything, so I’m not even really sure what I’d be looking for 😆

Happy birthday to your mom! Getting ready for a walk is even worse with a baby…trying to wrangle them into snow suits, hat and mitts is no fun at all

I’m quite pleased about the Oiselle sale since I was planning on spending money there anyways. Those are the best kinds of sales!

No shopping for this girl on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. I joined the #optout movement this year and enjoyed some fresh air instead. It does put me a little behind on my Christmas shopping though.
Love your layered up photo. Thank goodness my socks don’t fall down into my boots anymore like when I was a kid.
