I once again missed Thursday’s Thinking Out Loud with the lovely Amanda from Running With Spoons…but it is Friday and I have some random thoughts to share!
On Sunday I hung out with my favorite niece. We kicked the day off with brunch at Charbar and then went to Heritage Park to experience Once Upon a Christmas. Brunch was delicious and Avery declared her Phil & Sebastian hot chocolate and her French toast bites the best breakfast ever.
We had lovely weather for wandering around Heritage Park and I really enjoyed some one on one time with Avery. We spun a driedel, decorated gingerbread cookies and answered holiday trivia questions. She also beat me at checkers!
Tuesday was my lucky day! I won a prize pack from Training Peaks in their monthly ambassador contest. I’m not exactly sure what all is included but I think it may be a shirt, socks, water bottle and hat? We shall see! Back in June I won 6 months of Training Peaks premium for submitting this photo on Instagram with the tag #resultsstarthere. (They pick three Instagram winners every month.) You can sign up to be a Training Peaks ambassador as well, and then you can have a shot at winning cool stuff too. Sign up here.
Another reason why Tuesday was my lucky day? Anthropologie is granting holiday wishes! All you have to do is post a photo or a tweet with a link to an Anthro item that tops your holiday wish list and tag it with #DearAnthro, #entry and @anthropologie. They granted my wish for this very pretty tulle skirt that will be perfect for the holidays. Thank you so much Anthropologie!
Neil and I are planning a trip to New York City soon. This will be our third trip together as we went for our honeymoon and Christmas in 2013. I think this will be my sixth trip to New York? So with that being said we’ve already done a lot of the touristy things…Empire State Building, Top of the Rock. We’ve been to the Natural History Museum and MOMA and seen Times Square. I have already been to the Statue of Liberty.
What and/or where should we visit that we haven’t been yet?
Do you have any recommendations for great places to eat? We aren’t looking for fancy, expensive dinners on this trip…more the really delicious little hole in the wall type places.
Oh. My. Gosh. That. Skirt.
That’s so amazing and it’s soooooooo pretty!!!!
I had a chuckle at your gas pump picture 😉
Gasoline Alley is one my favourite places there to wander and check out.

I figured you might like the gas pump picture. I couldn’t resist! And my niece was asking me why I wanted my picture taken with the pumps…lol!!

That skirt! I LOVE IT!
I have only been to NY twice and don’t have a ton of suggestions, but one place we did eat both times was Mario Batali’s OTTO. The pizzas are delicious – and it is much less expensive/easier to get a table than Babbo.
Have fun! I can’t wait to hear about your trip.

New York City looks like such a fun place to go around Christmas! It’s on my list of places to go.

Craft Bar is yummy… We just stumbled upon it and were so happy we did. We had lunch there. The Smith is also a great place and there are several locations depending on where you are staying
