Somehow or other…here we are…almost ready to march on into July. Where is the year going?
Reading Devon Yanko’s Western States 100 race report. Boy 100 miles is a long way to run…and you can go through so many ups and downs over the day. A great read on how she overcame doubt and had to fix her day when she suffered from dehydration early in the race. Also worth a read is Lauren Fleshman’s account of what it was like to crew for Devon.
Loving this adorable little pup named Bonnie! She is sweet and friendly and she loves Peat to pieces!
Thinking about how much life is going to change in August after Ironman Boulder. Big, exciting and scary things to share…very soon.
Feeling a bit surprised that Ironman Boulder training is building to its final crescendo! I have two huge weeks of training ahead starting next week, and then it will be time to ever so slowly start backing off. If you need me over the next few weeks I can either be found in the pool, on my bike, or running somewhere. If I’m not there I am likely either sleeping or eating.
Excitedly anticipating our 5th anniversary on July 10th! Five years of wedded bliss with Neil has practically flown by. I can’t imagine a better partner to go through this journey in life with.
Inspired by this quote:
Watching The Americans. I’m just finishing up Season 1 and love it!
Sad in many ways about how much life is going to change come August. I’m excited about what is ahead, but also sad about the flip side of things.
Working on not that much at the moment besides training. I’m on vacation!
Grateful for the health and ability to train in some pretty amazing places these days!
Listening to these tunes lately.
Wishing for some lovely weather through July for this last big round of training!
What are you up to currently?
I’m linking up with Amanda from Running with Spoons for Thinking Out Loud.
I wish you the best of luck on all your changes and your final push in training to Boulder! I agree we need some great weather for July, all this rain on the weekends lately has NOT been any fun. This week I’ve made the shift to cycling and am no longer running or going to attempt any more triathlons. It was a tough decision to make, but I don’t want to damage my knee anymore than it already is. I’ve been spending rainy afternoons planning fun rides-I think I’ll try Horse Creek Road sometime this weekend. Cheers.
Amy, thank you so much for your comment! I have a friend who is coming to terms with something similar as her long term knee health just can’t handle running. I’m so sorry you are going through it too. I am glad you’ve found cycling though! I know there are some women’s cycling teams/groups so maybe that may be an option one day? I hope you are able to get out and cycle Horse Creek. It is a great ride! Smooth pavement much of the way. Let me know how it goes!
I’m so excited for everything to come with you and Neil!
Good luck with the last push to Boulder!!

I’m so curious to hear about all of the exciting (and scary!) plans in the works!!! Don’t leave me hangin’!
Good luck with all of the wonderful changes. Enjoy your final peak weeks. I know it’s hard, but this ain’t your first rodeo. 😉
Hope your training is going fabulously and cannot wait to hear more about all the new changes you have coming up.
I absolutely LOVE that quote about change. Seems that the messy middle part is always the longest phase though.
You have some great places to train in. I can’t believe it is the middle of July already. Where is this yr going?
