I’ve seen a lot of my twitter friends raving about Sparkly Soul‘s non-slip headbands lately. I need a headband for my Tower of Terror 10 Miler costume so I thought I’d order one and give it a try. I will admit to being a bit sceptical about their ability to stay in place as I’ve tried a ton of other brands that tout their grippiness only to have them fail on me. Well, Sparkly Soul was a whole different story! It never budged on my 70 min run. Yup, new fan of Sparkly Soul right here!

This has been the week for numerous double run days, albeit somewhat unexpectedly. I set out for my 70 min run at 5 am on Monday. Early morning running has not been agreeing with my stomach these days and I made it a whopping 17 min before I had to turn home and call it quits. I tried again after work with much better success. I also had a double run day on Wednesday – my planned speedwork in the morning, then a super easy run at lunch with a friend who needed a little company. Tomorrow is my early morning speed/evening long run combo so wish me luck with that! The bonus about my double run day on Wednesday? It was raining all day so it finally gave me a chance to try out my new Oiselle Flyer jacket!

I’m working on upping the nutrition factor in our diet, making sure our meals are well balanced and that they’ll support my training and recovery as I start training for Ironman Boulder. I’m also reading Racing Weight, so I’ll let you know my thoughts once I’ve finished it. I turned to the Runner’s World website for a few recipe ideas and came accross these amazing fish tacos with pineapple slaw. They were delicious! Give them a whirl. What are some of your favourite healthful recipes? Any favourite recipe sources you’d like to share? I’m looking for ideas!
I love soup when the weather begins to get chilly and this vegetarian tortilla soup recipe from Whole Foods hits the spot! If you prefer soup with meat, just add grilled chicken 🙂

I have no recipes. Whatever I make is boring, but because of what we buy it’s at least mostly nutritious. Linda doesn’t have recipes either. She just makes it up as she goes along, or so she says. I keep telling her one of her retirement things could be teaching people how to actually cook, without having to follow the assembly instructions in a book.
I’d love to hear how you like the flyer jacket! Those tacos look very yummy, but I tend to shy away from recipes with lots of ingredients. I’m such a pansy!
