Happy Thursday friends! I’m linking up with Amanda from Running With Spoons for Thinking Out Loud Thursday.
I’m back to running! With every run I feel more confident that my knee is doing well. After taking most of February off due to injury I feel out of running shape though. Yesterday’s half hour run felt hard. I’m sure with being consistent it will start to come back but I’m feeling nervous about running the Glencoe Icebreaker 10K at the end of the month. 10K seems like so far right now (says the girl that ran a marathon in January).
On the plus side it was 18C, bright and sunny at 5:00 yesterday. It felt like summer. Calgary has certainly been rocking March. My apologies to those of you burried under snow at the moment…that was Calgary at this time last year.
Other things I am nervous about? I am going to a spring triathlon training camp in Canmore this weekend. I’m not sure if I feel ready for the big volume of activity that I’ll be doing. Then again, the whole point of camp is to push yourself outside of your comfort zone and I’m looking forward to hanging out with some wonderful people.
I’ve heard there is a store in Canmore that sells Wild Friends Nut Butter. I intend to stock up!
Another thing I am loving these days are the fresh cold-pressed juices from Cru. I think the Beet Box with beetroot, apple, fennel, lemon and ginger is my favourite so far. I finally gave one of their nut mylks a try and it was delicious as well.
And this song. I’m loving this song.
Have a great Thursday friends! Tell me what one thing is that scares you!
Canmore should be beautiful this weekend! 🙂
So good to hear you’re back to running without any pain or issues, that’s such a great feeling!

Thanks Ange! Things look lovely for Saturday but a little more wintery like on Sunday. Luckily all of our outdoor activities are planned for Saturday. I’m excited to get out to the mountains!

Triathalon camp, I didn’t know that was such a thing! Your fitness levels will come back quickly but I always hate how quickly you lose it when you’re out.
I’ve never heard of wild friends peanut butter. I have a feeling I need it in my life. Let me know which store in camore because I’m heading there this weekend.
Glad to see your golden retriever made a blog appearance 😉

Yes to tri camp! A couple of the coaches thought it would be nice to get together in March and put in some quality training and volume. When I committed to it back in November it seemed like a good idea at the time but now I’m nervous!
I’ve heard that you can buy Wild Friends at Nutters in Canmore. Fingers crossed!
Hehe, my golden retriever… 🙂

I’m so glad your knee is doing better! I have been dealing with an ongoing knee issue and it has not been very fun! I’m interested to hear more about your triathlon training… I’ve wanted to do a tri since last year!
Thanks Sam! Those darn knees. Hopefully you are healing up well! Triathlons are fun…and rather addictive! Feel free to hit me up with any questions you have at all.

I hear you on the 10k seeming daunting right now. I’ve done two runs post baby that went well but were only 3kms long! I’m hoping to run the 10k at the Calgary marathon. Hope your triathlon camp goes well this weekend!
Thanks Leigh! Glad to hear you are back running post baby! Hopefully I’ll see you there at the Calgary Marathon. I was eyeing running the half.

I’m interested to try that CRU beverage, haven’t seen it anywhere around here, I’ll be on the look out for it. Where did you buy it from at home?

Hi Erica! In Calgary I’ve generally purchased CRU at the Holt Renfrew store downtown. They have a little kiosk there on the +15 level of the store. I’ve also picked some up from Studio Revolution on 17th after a class there. Tri It has carried it before (not sure if they have it now) and I think CRU has their own space in Bridgeland. I think you can also order online and have it delivered. Let me know if you give it a try!

I agree, the gorgeous weather in Calgary has been awesome. It actually feels like spring might be coming soon.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about Cru, but I have yet to try one.

Hasn’t the weather been great? After all of the snow we got last year this has been such a treat.
I generally grab a couple of Cru juices from their kiosk in Holt Renfrew downtown since it is easy for me to walk there at lunch. Let me know if you give it a try!

I definitely know what you mean about having to start from scratch when it comes to training and fitness! That’s currently me as I try to work on my running 😡 But I like to think it builds a strong character 😉 And our weather here in Edmonton has been pretty darn gorgeous as well, but I’m still expecting a big dump of snow in April 😆
